The Brief
North Sea Maritime is a yacht brokerage and sailing company based in Essex. Their existing WordPress site was dated and didn't reflect the quality of their services. They needed a complete redesign that would look professional, load fast and work well on all devices.
My Role
Full website redesign, development and deployment. I migrated the site from WordPress to Astro, a modern static site generator, giving them a dramatically faster and more visually striking online presence.
The Build
The new site is built with Astro and deployed as a static site on Opalstack behind Cloudflare. Key improvements include:
- Modern, immersive hero with full-viewport sailing imagery
- Clean navigation replacing the cluttered legacy menu
- Responsive layout that works beautifully on mobile and tablet
- Dramatically faster page loads with zero JavaScript overhead
- Contact form via Cloudflare Worker with email notifications
